Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw green beans, trimmed
  • water
  • 1 Tbs salted butter
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Add 1” of water to the bottom of a medium pot with a steamer insert.
  2. Place green beans in steamer insert.
  3. Cover, and place over high heat.
  4. Steam for 6-10 minutes, or until green beans are cooked as desired.
  5. Drain water and return beans to hot pot. Add butter and stir to melt. Season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with lemon juice to serve.
